INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Benedictine Wrestling season got underway on Saturday as the Ravens traveled to compete in the annual Luther Hill Invitational hosted by Simpson College.
The Ravens competed in both the Open Division and Freshmen/Sophomore Division at the tournament. They earned one championship, two runner-up finishes, a fourth-place finish and a sixth-place finish in the Open Division. In the Fresh/Soph Division they earned a second place, third place and fourth place finish.
Jackson Perkins won his weight class in the Open Division posting a 4-0 start to his season at 197 pounds. Daniel Skold (285 pounds) and Caleb Peralta (141 pounds) placed second. Christion Griggs (174 pounds) placed fourth and Mason Scholtz (149 pounds) placed sixth.
In the Fresh/Soph Division Mason Harris opened his season at 3-1 to take second at 285 pounds. Doug Blaha (197 pounds) placed third and Rance Ridley (174 pounds) placed fourth.
Benedictine makes their home debut on Friday, hosting the annual Loosbrock Duals at 9 a.m. Friday inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
