Men's Lacrosse dropped an overtime game at home Wednesday night.
The (RV) Ravens lost, 11-10, to the Columbia College Cougars in a tightly contested game.
The Ravens held a 9-6 lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Cougars outscored the Ravens 4-1 the remainder of regulation, leveling the score with 33 seconds left to play. Columbia was able to win the opening face off in overtime and scored on their first possession, ending the game with a sudden-death goal.
The game was tight from the beginning even as the Cougars took a 4-1 lead after the opening quarter of play. The Ravens found their footing in the second quarter, outscoring Columbia 5-0 to take a 6-4 lead into halftime.
Joey Calabria and Mason Eberle both had 2 goals in the opening half for the Ravens, and CJ Besuzzi made 6 saves in the first 30 minutes.
Both teams scored 2 goals in the third quarter, setting up a close finish that saw the Cougars come out on top.
Besuzzi finished the contest with 9 saves, and Jonah Salem's 3 goals were a team-high for the Ravens. Mac Postel Jr. finished with 3 assists and 2 goals.
The Ravens (3-5, 2-1 Heart) will take to the road for their next contest, a 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29 game at Missouri Baptist.
