FAYETTE, Mo. – Benedictine Softball earns a road split on Sunday with No. 9 Central Methodist University in the NAIASB Heart Softball Series of the Week.
CMU took the opener 4-3 before Benedictine took game two 1-0 to earn the split.
Benedictine scored runs in the fifth and sixth innings, but couldn't break through in the opener as CMU held on for the 1-run win.
Lily SinghDhillon suffered the loss inside the circle. She went 6 innings, giving up 4 runs off 8 hits.
Rhiannon Martin went 3 for 4 at the plate with a home run and an RBI. Riley Kennedy went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, while Megan Forsman finished with an RBI.
In game two, the Ravens rallied behind Bailey Selvage inside the circle. Selvage threw her 14th complete game in 17 starts to earn the win.
Selvage held the Eagles scoreless off 5 hits with 6 strikeouts to earn the win.
Alma Garcia recorded a double at the plate while Alena Velilla drove in the Ravens lone run.
Benedictine returns home on Saturday and Sunday for a pair of Heart doubleheaders. They host Grand View University on Saturday and Graceland University on Sunday for Senior Day.
