WICHITA – After playing to a scoreless draw through the half, Benedictine Men's Soccer took full advantage of 4 second-half shots on Thursday night as they opened their season with a 3-1 win over Friends University.
Benedictine scored goals during the 28th and 59th minute to take a 2-1 lead and then answered a 69th minute goal from the Falcons with their final goal during the 84th minute.
The scoring started for the ravens on a goal from Felipe Vargas with the assist going to Kody Argaez. Fabian Viquez made it 2-0 Ravens and then Argaez gave the Ravens the 3-1 lead late with the assist credited to Eliah Friesland.
Hernan Burdiles earned the start in goal for the Ravens and picked up his first career win at Benedictine with a 3-save effort over 90 minutes in goal.
The Ravens host (17) Mid-America Christian in their home opener on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. on Legacy Field.
