Women's Soccer opened the 2025 campaign with a convincing home victory Thursday night.
The Ravens defeated the Mount Marty Lancers, 3-0, on Legacy Field.
After a scoreless first half, the Ravens grabbed the lead early in the second half.
Payton Vogelbacher scored the first Ravens goal of the season 3 minutes into the second half, scoring on an assist by
Anna Bolger as the sophomore slipped a pass through the Mount Marty 6-yard box. Vogelbacher was on the opposite end of the goal, ready to tap it in to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
The Ravens doubled their lead with 20 minutes to play.
Isabel Agudelo fought for the ball and was able to nudge it to
Teya Bigknife, who slotted it past the Lancers keeper to put the Ravens up 2-0.
It didn't take long for the Ravens to increase their lead further, as this time it was Agudelo scoring the goal with 14:27 left to play. She was assisted by
Christine Znidarsic to make it 3-0.
The Ravens dominated possession Thursday night, particularly in the second half. The Ravens outshot the Lancers 20-4, including a 9-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Madison Smith saved the only Mount Marty shot on goal.
The Ravens next tilt will also be at home when they take on Midland University at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 on Legacy Field.
