MARSHALL, Mo. – Benedictine Men's Soccer pulled off the upset on Tuesday night, picking up a shutout over No. 9 Missouri Valley College on the road.
After playing to a scoreless draw through halftime, (RV) Benedictine scored 3 goals over a 7-minute stretch, scoring during the 53rd, 57th and 60th minutes to jump out to a 3-0 lead on the Vikings.
Carson Wilcox struck first on an assist from Kody Argaez during the 53th minute. Zachary Pedersen scored next during the 57th minute on a second assist from Argaez. Evan Ediger capped off the 7-minute scoring run for the Ravens during the 60th minute on an assist from Nicholas Rowe.
Rowe capped off the the scoring effort the Ravens during the 63rd minute on an unassisted goal.
Benedictine took full advantage of their 8 shots, finishing with 7 shots on goal. Missouri Valley finished with 7 shots, with just 2 on goal. Hernan Burdiles played into the 83rd minute in goal, recording 1 save before Payton Travis finished off the match, recording a save of his own.
The Ravens return home on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., hosting Graceland University on Legacy Field.
