MARSHALL, Mo. – No. 9 Missouri Valley Women's Soccer limited Benedictine to 7 shots on Tuesday night en route to a 3-1 win over the Ravens.
After leading 1-0 at the half, the Vikings added two second-half goals before Benedictine ended its scoreless drought. Lizzy Gresch scored the Ravens lone goal during the 83rd minute off an assist from Annie Wilken to break through against the Vikings.
Missouri Valley finished with a 20-7 advantage in shots with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Madison Smith finished with a season-high 7 saves in the loss, playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Benedictine returns home for their Heart home opener on Saturday, hosting Graceland University at 5 p.m. on Legacy Field.
