Men's Soccer closed out the early portion of its non-conference schedule with a win on Wednesday.
The (RV) Ravens defeated the Concordia University Bulldogs 2-0, with both goals coming in the opening half.
The Ravens had plenty of pressure in the attacking third in the first half and it paid off with 13 minutes to play before halftime.
Zachary Pedersen received a pass from
Carson Wilcox, made a move on a defender and then bent a shot into the upper-left corner of the net to put the Ravens up 1-0.
The Ravens doubled their lead in the final seconds of the half.
Juan Piratova won possession and then sent a deep shot that evaded the Bulldogs keeper to give the Ravens a 2-0 lead at the break.
Defense was the name of the game for the Ravens in the second half. The Bulldogs pressed to try to find a goal in the final 45 minutes, but the Ravens defense remained disciplined and up to the task. Ultimately, the Ravens secured their third-straight clean sheet and haven't allowed a goal since the first game of the season.
On Wednesday, the Ravens outshot the Bulldogs 11-5 in shots on goal while
Hernan Burdiles was perfect with 4 saves in goal for the Ravens.
The Ravens (3-0-1) will being Heart of America play at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Missouri Baptist.
