ST. LOUIS – Benedictine Men's Soccer opened up Heart play on Saturday with their third straight shutout of the season.
The Ravens earned a 3-0 win over Heart newcomer Missouri Baptist University, doubling up the Spartans on shots 24-12.
Kody Argaez gave the Ravens a 1-0 lead during the 42nd minute off an assist from Carson Wilcox. The Ravens kept that advantage through the half before Juanes Hernandez made it 2-0.
Hernandez scored during the 52nd minute as Argaez tallied the assist before Eliah Froeyland scored an unassisted goal.
The Ravens finished with an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal as Hernan Burdiles finished with his second shutout of the week. Burdiles played all 90 minutes in goal for the Ravens, finishing with 6 saves.
Benedictine remains on the road, traveling to Marshall, Mo., for a Tuesday Heart match against No. 9 Missouri Valley College.
