(RV) Women's Basketball takes season series over Baker

BALDWIN CITY – For the second time this season, (RV) Benedictine Women's Basketball used a strong conversion rate off Baker turnovers to hand the Wildcats a commanding 28-point loss.

The Ravens scored 28 points off 17 Wildcat turnovers on Wednesday night en route to a 85-57 win over Baker as they took the regular-season series.

Not only did the Ravens finished with a strong scoring total off turnovers, they matched their season high in 3-pointers, hitting 10.

Benedictine pushed out to a 8-point lead after the first quarter and extended their lead to 19 by halftime. Nicole Storck scored 5 of Benedictine's first 7 points of the quarter as she scored 8 of her 14 points in the quarter. Defensively, the Ravens held the Wildcats to just 5 of 15 from the floor as they were able to pull away for their 49-30 halftime lead.

Baker outscored Benedictine by 5 points in the third quarter, but couldn't capitalize on any momentum as they went cold in the fourth quarter, scoring just 9 points as the Ravens limited them to just 2 of 13 from the floor. Oen Deters finished the fourth quarter with 2 of her team-high 4 pointers as she gave the Ravens their first 20 point lead of the fourth quarter inside the first two minutes of the quarter.

Strock was joined in double figures by Deters, and Riley Bruggeman. Deters matched her career high with 21 points while Bruggeman added 20 points while Storck added 14 rebounds to go along with her 14 points.

Benedictine remains on the road Saturday, traveling to Mount Mercy University for a game at Noon. The Ravens earned a 74-64 win over the Mustangs in the first meeting in Atchison on Dec. 6.
