Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

(1) Women's Lacrosse continues season with 25-1 road win over (RV) Ottawa

OTTAWA – Benedictine Women's Lacrosse returned to the road on Saturday afternoon for their first game of the season against an NAIA opponent, and started right where they left off 2025.

The top-ranked Ravens scored early and often against Ottawa University in a non-conference match up with the Braves to earn a 25-1 win.

Benedictine led 9-1 headed Into the second quarter and with a goal from Mackenna Hill, off an assist from Kaylen Moore, inside the first 3 minutes of the second quarter, the Ravens kicked in the 10-point mercy rule and the running clock for the remainder of the game.

Lile Chekas got Benedictine on the board with back-to-back goals to open the game, the first coming inside the first minute of play. 

Benedictine finished the game with a 43-5 advantage in shots as 11 Ravens scored a goal in the win. Lorelei Siegel led the Ravens with 6 goals, followed by Chekas with 5. Hill added 3 goals while Moore, Kiera Russell, and Alexa Hildenbrand scored 2 goals each. Regan Engle, Emma Rushing, Bronwyn Segal, Addy Horn and Izzie Vernarsky scored 1 goal each. Hill and Siegel led the Ravens with 3 assists each. Moore and Hildenbrand added 2 assist each while Chekas, Rushing, Segal, and Horn finished with 1 assist each.

The Ravens tallied 22 draw controls in the win, led by Moore with 5. Russell and Hill finished with 3 each. 

Defensively, Siegel finished with 2 caused turnovers and 5 ground balls while Hill led the Ravens with 6 ground balls. Molly Owen earned the win in goal, playing the first 30 minutes and recording 1 save. Margaret Ritson and Morgan Wassenberg combined to finish off the game in goal for the Ravens with Ritson added 2 saves.

Benedictine makes their home debut on Feb. 28, hosting NCAA Div. II William Jewell College at 10 a.m. on Legacy Field.
