OLATHE – No. 10 MNU hit a season-high 14 3-pointers on Saturday night as they earned a 67-46 win over (RV) Benedictine Women's Basketball.
The win gives the Pioneers the Heart regular-season title and snaps the Ravens 13-game winning streak.
MNU pulled ahead by as much as 13 points in the first quarter before Benedictine battled back to tie the game at 21 on a pair of free throws from Nicole Storck in the second quarter.
The Pioneers closed out the second quarter outscoring Benedictine 16-4 to take a 12 points lead into the half.
MNU led by double figures for the entire second half, hitting 4 of 5 from beyond the arc in the third quarter to finish the game shooting 46.7 from beyond the arc and 47.2 from the floor.
Benedictine was able to win the rebounding battle 37-23, but couldn't overcome the Pioneers 3-point shooting.
Nicole Storck was the only Raven in double figures finishing with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Riley Bruggeman finished with 9 points while Oen Deters and Kelli Storck added 8 points each.
The Ravens will host a Quarterfinal game of the Heart Women's Basketball Championship Series inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb. 25 as one of the top four seeds in the tournament field.
