LAMONI, Iowa – Benedictine Women's Basketball continued its winning streak on Saturday earning a 72-61 win over Graceland University.
The Ravens took advantage of forcing the Yellowjackets into 21 turnovers as they scored 24 points directly off their turnovers en route to the win.
Graceland held as much as a 5 point lead in the first quarter before Benedictine turned a 2-point deficit at the end of the first quarter into a 2-point lead at the half, 30-28.
Hattie Gros opened the second quarter with a pair of 3-pointers that sparked the Ravens offense. The Ravens used a 10-2 run to take control of the game before the Yellowjackets pulled back with 2 by halftime.
In the third quarter, Graceland was able to remain close to Benedictine early, taking back the lead briefly 2 minute into the quarter. After Graceland tied the game at 37-all, Benedictine used an 11-0 run sparked by Riley Bruggeman to pull ahead and never looked back.
The Ravens outscored the Yellowjackets 10-2 over 2 minute stretch in the fourth quarter to pull ahead by 16 points before earning the 11-point lead.
Bruggeman led the Ravens with 21 points as three players finished in double figures. Nicole Storck scored 17 points while pulling in 10 rebounds while Gros finished with 13.
Benedictine remains on the road Wednesday, traveling to Baldwin City to take on Baker University at 5:30 p.m.
