LEAVENWORTH – Benedictine Baseball continued non-conference play, hitting the road on Monday for a 9-inning game with the University of St. Mary.
The Ravens took the lead over the Spires 5-4 in the fourth and continued to add on for a 13-8 win.
Benedictine recorded 5 extra-base hits in support of four pitchers. Scott Matzke earned the start and threw the first 2.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs off 6 hits. Ryan McDougal earned the win throwing the next 2.1 innings before Ethan Arnold and Ben Bowman threw the 4 innings with Bowman finishing off the final 2.2 innings to earn the save.
JK Sparks finished 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI to go along with a double. Carson Hintz added a home run and 3 RBI while Korey Messick also hit a solo home run. Daniel Ornelas and Jackson Stone added a double each while Martin, Hintz, Ornelas and Stone finished with two hits each.
Benedictine hosts Avila University at 1 p.m. inside Olsen Stadium.
