Ravens Softball earned a home split Thursday afternoon.
The No. 25 Ravens dropped the first game, 2-1, to the William Penn University Statesmen, and then answered with an 11-3 win in the second game.

Game 1
The Ravens lost a tough first game, 2-1. The Ravens got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning when
Kaylee Norris scored
Amanda Waymire on a sacrifice fly.
That lead stood until the fifth inning. The Statesmen had a runner on second base with two outs but the Ravens had an opportunity to end the inning. Unfortunately a ground ball glanced off the glove of a fielder, allowing the runner from second to tie the game. A triple brought home the Statesmen's second run.
The Ravens had two runners reach in the bottom of the fifth but were unable to level the score. WPU kept the Ravens from threatening in the sixth and seventh innings to secure the win.
Bailey Selvage (10-5) pitched a complete game for the Ravens, striking out 7 batters while allowing 3 hits and 2 unearned runs.

Game 2
The Ravens bats responded in a big way in Thursday's second game, an 11-3 win. After an unearned run gave WPU a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Ravens plated 8 runs in the bottom half to take control of the game.
Alena Velilla led off the inning with a home run.
Kaleigh Small worked a walk and
Rhiannon Martin singled. Waymire brought Small home on a sacrifice fly, then Regan Enright hit a 2-run homer.
Megan Forsman followed that up with a double, and
Lauren Gaitley and
Kaylee Norris singled to load the bases.
Ashley Rindom knocked a pinch-hit single to score Forsman, then Velilla doubled home Norris and Gaitley.
After Martin was intentionally walked, Waymire worked her own walk to bring home
Ryan Cooper, who was re-entered to run for Rindom, which rounded out the 8-run burst.
The Statesmen scored twice in the third inning, but Waymire homered in the fourth and then singled home Velilla in the fifth inning.
Abby Reynolds pinch ran for Waymire and scored on Forsman's single to give the Ravens the run-rule victory.
Velilla finished the game 4-for-4 with a home run and a double. Waymire was 2-2 with a homer and 4 RBIs.
Lily SinghDhillon pitched the first two innings, giving up 2 earned runs.
Kaelyn Conrad (7-0) pitched the final 3 innings without allowing a run.
The Ravens (24-10, 11-3 Heart) will hit the road for their next three series, starting with a 10 a.m. doubleheader Friday, April 10 at William Woods University.
