CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – No. 1 Benedictine Women's Lacrosse wrapped up the regular season on Monday afternoon with a new season high scoring effort, beating Mount Mercy University 30-1.
The 30-goal effort ties the record for third-most goals scored in a single game in program history.
The Ravens finished the game with a 42 total shots with 38 on goal while 18 different Ravens found the back of the net.
Mackenna Hill led the Ravens with 10 points, scoring 4 goals with 6 assists. Kaylen Moore added 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists. Kiera Russell and Ava Moore joined Kaylen Moore with 3 goals. Maylen Smith, Lile Chekas, and Addy Horn scored 2 goals each. Lorelei Siegel, Ainsley Willingham, Victoria Majdan, Alexa Hildenbrand, Bronwyn Segal, Elizabeth Gerrits, Karlie Schalk, Izzie Venarsky, Sam Hall, Vera Plunkett and Molly Owen scored 1 goal each. Segal and Venarsky added 2 assists while Russell, Siegel, Hildenbrand, Ava Moore, Schalk, and Hall were joined by Regan Engle and Emme Bailey with 1 assist each.
Defensively, the Ravens finished with 20 caused turnovers led by Kaylen Moore with 5. Russell and Willingham added 3 each while Smith finished with 2. Kaylen Moore led the Ravens with 10 draw controls while Russell, and Venarsky added 5 each. Russel led the way with 5 ground balls as the Ravens finished with 27.
Owen played the first 45 minutes in goal, finishing with a save to earn the win. Monica Klecan played the fourth quarter to round out the Ravens win.
Benedictine is hosting the 2026 Heart Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. As the top seed, they earn one of two byes in the Semifinals that will take place on Legacy Field at April 30, followed by the Championship on May 2.
