(9) Men's Lacrosse locks up No. 1 seed for Heart Tournament

Men's Lacrosse picked up a dominant home win Tuesday night.

The (9) Ravens defeated the Midland University Warriors, 22-1, to close out the regular season and secure the No. 1 seed in the Heart Championship Tournament.

The Ravens took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, but Midland was able to answer with a goal of its own in the final minute of the period.

Joey Calabria, Jonah Salem and Keegan Lindsay each scored in the opening 15 minutes for the Ravens.

Calabria pushed the Ravens lead to 6-1 early in the second quarter with a trio of goals, including a behind-the-back score and another goal as he fell to his knees.

The Ravens lead ballooned to 12-1 by halftime. Calabria scored 6 goals in the first half, Salem added 3, and Trent Harder and Mason Eberle joined Lindsay with a goal in the first 30 minutes.

Salem and Harder scored the only goals in the third quarter as the Ravens increased their lead to 15-1.

Eberle, Ian Madden, Mateo Herbertz, Salem and Lloyd Warren added goals in the final period to close out the Ravens 22-1 win.

The Ravens dominated possession in the game, winning 21 face offs to 6 for Midland, and causing 22 turnovers compared to just 4 for the Warriors. Reed Martin led the team with 6 caused turnovers, and Jack Northrup had 3. Max Thomason was a perfect 8-for-8 on face offs. Camden Chambers won 6 face offs and James Kinney won 5.

Madden had a team-high 4 assists, and Eberle and Jacob Meyer each had 3 assists.

The Ravens (11-1, 8-1 Heart) will now wait to find out their opponent in the semifinals of the Heart Tournament, having earned a bye in Saturday's quarterfinals. The Ravens will host the tournament semifinals on Thursday, April 30 and championship game on Saturday, May 2.
