NORTHBOROUGH, MA – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced the 2026 National and Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year. The IWLCA Coaching Staff of the Year Award honors one National and multiple Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year from each NCAA division and a National Coaching Staff of the Year from the NAIA.
For the second time in two years, Benedictine Women's Lacrosse has been named the IWLCA NAIA Coaching Staff of the Year after the Ravens earned the programs third overall NAIA National Championship.
Under the leadership of head coach Clare Hanson and assistant coach Mackenzie Petersen, the Ravens posted a 19-0 record while winning back-to-back NAIA titles to run their winning streak to 40 since the start of the 2025 season.
Benedictine led the NAIA in goals (418), shots (769), shots on goal (624) and draw controls (396). They ranked second in assists (226), fifth in caused turnovers (241) and third in ground balls (410). They secured all six first-place votes in the final NAIA Postseason Coaches' Poll after going wire-to-wire this season as the No. 1-ranked NAIA program.
Coach Hanson was also named the NAIA Coach of the Year while the Ravens earned 7 NAIA All-America selections as Kaylen Moore was named the Player of the Year. Moore also earned the NAIA National Tournament MVP while Lorelei Siegel, Alexa Hildenbrand, Ava Moore and Molly Owen were named to the All-Tournament Team.
All four National Coaching Staff of the Year honorees earned a National Title this past season. All winners will be honored at the IWLCA Convention, which is set to take place this November at the Tradewinds Resort in St. Pete Beach, Fla. Benedictine was joined by Northwestern University (Division I), Florida Southern College (Division II), and Middlebury College (Division III) as the four divisional Coaching Staff of the Year recipients.
