HASTINGS, Neb. – Benedictine Women's Soccer secured its first shutout of the season on Wednesday, beating Hastings College 3-0 on the road.
The Ravens struck first during the 23rd minute of action, the extended their advantage to 2-0 by halftime before capping off the match with the final goal during the 86th minute.
Patsy O'Brien scored her first goal of the season during the 23rd minute of an assist from Jenna Wilken. That combination would be heard from again later in the match.
Mollie Finley pushed the Ravens advantage to 2-0 with an unassisted goal during the 37th minute.
Benedictine doubled up Hastings in shots during the first half, 8-4, but both teams finished with two shots on goal each.
O'Brien paid back the assist from Wilken for the Ravens final goal of the match during the 86th minute with Wilken scoring off O'Brien's assist.
The Ravens finished the match with a 16-8 advantage in shots with a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Campbell Gregory came up with a total of 5 saves over as the Ravens recorded 4 saves win the second half of the match to preserve the shutout.
The Ravens make their home debut on Saturday, with the match now scheduled at 1:30 p.m. due to the lighting at Legacy Field be out of service due to a lighting strike.
