OSKALOOSA, Iowa – (22) Benedictine Women's Soccer opened up Heart of America Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a shutout over William Penn University.
The Ravens turned a 1-0 halftime lead into a 3-0 win over the Statesmen.
Maura Maher scored the Ravens first two goals of the match. She scored off an assist from Teya Bigknife during the 16th minute and then extended the Ravens advantage to 2 goals off an assist from Isabel Agudelo during the 51st minute.
Rowan Yows capped off the scoring for the Ravens off an assist from Ella Braunger during the 77th minute.
The Ravens finished with a 10-shot advantage, 13-3, while holding the Statesmen to just 1 shot on goal.
Campbell Gregory registered the win in goal, finishing with 1 save over 90 minutes.
Benedictine hosts (10) MNU at 2 p.m. Wednesday on Legacy Field. The match time has been pushed up due to the continued replacement of the lighting system at Legacy Field.
