After shifting first whistle to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday due to afternoon heat and early evening severe weather, (18) Benedictine Women's Soccer secured its third win of the Heart season over Culver-Stockton College.
The Ravens struck first during the 27th minute of play and added three more goals to their final tally as they earned the seventh shutout against the Wildcats over the last 10 matches with Culver-Stockton.
Jenna Wilken scored the first goal of the match for the Ravens to snap the scoreless drought. Anna Bolger netted the second goal of the match off an assist from Brynn Carroll to give the Ravens a 2-0 lead at the break.
After a slow start to the match by both team, the Ravens finished the first half with a 15-shot advantage.
It didn't take long for the Ravens to score in the second half when Carroll scored during the 49th minute off an assist from Isabel Agudelo.Â
Wilken capped off the scoring with her second unassisted goal of the match during the 56th minute to secure the Ravens Senior Day win.
The Ravens backline defense held the Wildcats without a single shot in the second half, which allowed Cambell Gregory to earn the win and the shutout as she went the distance in goal.
Benedictine returns to the road, traveling to Marshall, Mo., on Tuesday for another Top 25 match as they take on No. 21 Missouri Valley College. They remain on the road Sept. 26 with a trip to Clarke University before closing out the month at home on Sept. 30 with Grand View University.
