Men's Basketball snapped a two-game skid Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens knocked off the MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers 83-73, riding a big first half to the 10-point win.
The first half couldn't have gone much better for the Ravens as they took a 21-point lead into halftime. The Ravens were powered by a 19-3 run that stretched from the 10-minute mark until 3:30 left in the first half.
The Ravens were efficient inside and out, shooting 58 percent from the field and from the 3-point line. The Ravens scored 21 points from deep and 20 points inside the paint in the opening 20 minutes.
Defensively, the Ravens limited the Pioneers to 35 percent shooting in the first half. The Pioneers entered Saturday's game averaging 82.8 points per game, but the Ravens held them well below that pace in the first half.
Another key area the Ravens held an advantage was on the boards. The Ravens pulled down 20 rebounds, compared to 10 for the Pioneers. MNU averaged 40 rebounds per game entering the contest.
The Pioneers didn't lay down, though, scoring 46 points in the second half. MNU's outside shooting dragged them back into the game as the Pioneers banged in 9-of-17 from 3-point range in the second half.
On the other end of the floor, the Ravens missed all four 3-point attempts in the second half. Though the Pioneers were able to cut the Ravens lead to single digits, the Ravens never lost full control of the game.
Jaiden Bristol finished with a game-high 25 points while adding 5 assists and 3 steals. Matt Austin and Nysir Scott each scored 12 points, and Jayden Temme, Saxton Thuston, and Tyson Cathy added 8 points, each.
The Ravens finished the game shooting 58.6 percent from the field and held the Pioneers 10 points below their season average.
Next up for the Ravens (7-4, 1-1 Heart) is a road contest at Evangel University on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
