Men's Basketball earned a convincing win Wednesday night.
The Ravens defeated the Missouri Valley College Vikings 76-51 in their final home game of the season.
The Vikings took a brief lead early in the game, but the Ravens soon took control of the game and cruised to a 25-point win.
The Ravens closed out the first half on an 11-0 run to take a 42-23 lead into the halftime break. The run was punctuated by the final two baskets before the half; the first came from Jayden Temme as he flashed through the lane and slammed a two-handed jam. Then, right before the halftime buzzer sounded, Matt Austin drained a 3-pointer to give the Ravens a 19-point lead at the break.
Both Matt Austin and Saxton Thuston scored 10 points to lead the Ravens in the first half.
To go along with their scoring run to end the first half, they also had one at the beginning of the half to take the lead. The Vikings took a quick 7-2 lead but the Ravens responded with a 13-0 run to take the lead, which they held the remainder of the half.
The second half was more of the same as the Ravens pushed their lead into the 20s and maintained control of the game the entire second half.
Austin finished with a team-high 16 points to go with 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals, but it was thoroughly a team effort against the Vikings. The Ravens outscored Missouri Valley 42-10 in bench points, with Nysir Scott scoring 15, Thuston with 12, and Ahmad Louis with 11 points.
Jaiden Bristol reached a milestone Wednesday. He finished with 4 assists in the game, giving him 647 in his career. That mark moves Bristol into a tie with Jason Wyrick for most assists in program history.
The Ravens improve to 16-11 on the season and 10-8 in the Heart South. They are now tied for third in the Heart South with the final regular-season game to be played Saturday. The Ravens will travel to Park University looking to close out the season with a win.
