Football gains a point, remains at No. 3 in latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – While the top 15 spots in the poll went unchanged on Monday, Benedictine Football gained a point as they held on to No. 3 in the latest Netting Professionals NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

Off their 66-7 win over Missouri Valley, the Ravens earned 407 points this week to keep pace at No. 3 behind No. 1 Grand View (435 points) and No. 2 Kesier (Fla.) (423 points).

From the NAIA's release on this week's poll, "The Ravens picked up their eighth win of the season on Saturday, beating Missouri Valley 66-7. Since the three-point loss to Grand View in the second game of the season, BC has averaged nearly 60 points per game, scoring 66 or more in three of the seven games. In the win over Valley, Benedictine's defense allowed two first downs and just 54 yards of first-half offense, leading 28-0 at the end of the first quarter."

Benedictine will be one of the NAIA's featured games on UEN this week, as they travel to Baldwin City for the Heart-UEN Clash of the Week against (RV) Baker University at 1 p.m.

Grand View and Benedictine are joined inside the last poll by William Penn, who moved up to No. 17 with 205 points this week. In addition to the Statesmen, MNU (31 points) and Baker (8 points) remained listed in the other's receiving votes category.

The Ravens entire the penultimate week of the regular season with the Wildcats ranked second in the NAIA in both scoring (480) and points per game (53.3). They rank fourth in total offense (4,612) and yards per game (512.4). They lead the NAIA in red zone scores (47 of 51) and red zone touchdowns (42 of 51).

Individually, Jackson Dooley ranks fourth in the NAIA in passing touchdowns (30) and eighth in passing yards (2,421). Titan Osburn is tied for seventh in reception touchdowns (10) while Tanner Zimmerman is tied for 15th (8). Defensively, Isaiah Hasten continues to lead the NAIA in interceptions. He is currently one of three players in the NAIA with 6 interceptions. His next interception will give him 10 career interceptions, moving him in a tie with former defensive back Jackson Hoskins on the Ravens all-time interception list.
