Benedictine College Women's Lacrosse head coach Clare Hanson and assistant coach MacKenzie Petersen have been awarded the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NAIA Staff of the Year.

The IWLCA hands out yearly Staff of the Year awards across the various levels of collegiate women's lacrosse – Division I, Division II, Division III, and the NAIA. The honors are the first for Coach Hanson and Coach Petersen after they led Benedictine Women's Lacrosse to the program's second-ever NAIA National Championship.

Benedictine finished off the third-ever undefeated season in NAIA women's lacrosse history with a 21-15 win over the University of Cumberlands. At 21-0, the Ravens win total set a new single-season record for wins and consecutive wins for the NAIA. The team set four new tournament records for the tournament: 56 goals, 111 total shots, 56 total draw controls, and 38 caused turnovers. They also set three single-game records in this year's National Tournament. They tallied 14 assists against SCAD, 46 shots against Cumberlands, and 25 draw controls against SCAD.

On the year, the Ravens led the NAIA in goals (512), assists (237), ground balls (471), and draw controls (474). They broke the single-season record for goals, assists, and draw controls.

Coach Hanson was named the 2025 NAIA Coach of the Year, and the program earned five NAIA All-American selections – three on the first team in Kaylen Moore, Chanterra Allen, and Ava Moore, one on the second team in Molly Owen, and one on the third team in Kiera Russell. Kaylen Moore was also named the NAIA Player of the Year.

Earlier this month, Coach Hanson announced the elevation of Coach Petersen from a graduate assistant for the program to her full-time assistant coach.
