Benedictine Baseball was among the list of 440 collegiate programs from across the NCAA, NAIA, and junior college levels to earn the 2024-25 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

"We are very proud and honored to be recognized by the ABCA for the Team Academic Excellence Award for the 3rd consecutive year," said head coach Eric Peterson. "Benedictine College provides a special opportunity to our student athletes to achieve greatness in the classroom. We have met that challenge.

"Excited for our program, student athletes and their families."

This award recognizes ABCA member teams from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.

The Ravens finished the 2024-25 academic year with an overall team GPA of 3.011 with a 3.050 GPA during the Spring of 2025 semester. This year's ABCA academic honor marks the fourth time under head coach Eric Peterson that the program has been recognized. This is the third straight season for the honor, with the first time coming after the 2019-20 school year.

This year, 440 college programs and nearly 300 high school programs were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.

Coaches were able to nominate their teams for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award following the conclusion of their spring semesters prior to the nomination deadline of July 18th. To be honored, teams had to meet the following criteria: Must be a high school or college team; Head coach must be a current ABCA member; Team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year.

Benedictine is just one of two programs from the Heart of America Athletic Conference to earn recognition out of a total of 36 NAIA programs. Graceland University was the other Heart program to join the Ravens.
