OVERLAND PARK – For the third straight week, Benedictine Women's Lacrosse has swept weekly honors from the Heart of America Athletic Conference, presented by TarkettSports.
Lorelei Siegel has been named the Offensive Player of the Week for the third straight week, while reigning Defensive Player of the Year Molly Owen, has earned her first Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Benedictine wrapped up Spring Break with three wins during the awards cycle, capping off a 3-game road trip with a Heart opening win over Ottawa University on Saturday.
Siegel finished the week with a total of 19 points, scoring 13 goals and adding 6 assists. She scored the game winning goal in overtime against No. 2 Cumberlands in Benedictine middle game of their Spring Break road trip. Siegel currently ranks third in the NAIA with 35 goals in 7 games. She also ranks third in points with 50 while she ranks second in shots with 68. She leads the NAIA in shots on goal with 59.
Owen recorded a total of 18 saves on the week to help the Ravens to road wins over No. 2 Cumberlands and No. 10 Marian. For the season, Owen currently ranks fourth in the NAIA in goals-against-average at 8.96.
The Ravens remain at home on Saturday, hosting a 1 p.m. game with No. 6 Keiser (Fla.) on Legacy Field.
