OVERLAND PARK – Benedictine Men's Lacrosse has earned weekly honors for the fifth time in the last six weeks and fourth straight week today as CJ Besuzzi picked up his second Heart honors of the season.
Besuzzi was named the Heart Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, presented by TarkettSports, after his efforts in Benedictine's 22-8 win over (RV) Columbia College on Saturday. He matched his career high with 20 saves in just over 55 minutes in goal as the Ravens improved to 4-0 in Heart play.
Heading into the week, Besuzzi leads the Heart in goal-against-average at 1.89, giving up just 9 goals in 286 minutes in goal this season.
The Ravens remain on the road for a mid-week game, traveling to Fulton, Mo., on Wednesday to take on William Woods University at 6 p.m.
