OVERLAND PARK – For the second time this season, Joe Loughman has earned a weekly Men's Outdoor Track honor from the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Loughman was named the Heart Outdoor Track Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts in Thursday's UCM Mule Relays. He earned an event championship in the javelin with a throw of 68.82 meters (225'9").

His mark pushed him to the top of the NAIA leader board with the top throw so far this season. He is currently one of five athletes from across the NAIA to hit the A qualifying standard for the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships and he holds the top mark by just over 2 feet.

The Outdoor Season continues this week with a trip to Orange City, Iowa, as both teams take part in the Red Raider Open on Thursday and Friday, hosted by Northwestern (Iowa) College.
