Track & Field qualifies 17 for NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

ASHEVILLE, N,C – Benedictine Track & Field is sending 17 athletes to the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this week, as the 45th annual Women's Championships and 74th annual Men's Championships takes place at Karl Straus Track and UNC-Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina.

The Championships run from Wednesday through Friday.

The Raven Men will compete in the Javelin and 5,000 Race Walk. Joe Loughman is ranked second in the Javelin headed into the Championships. Owen Nolte, Daniel Crossett and Andrew Puester will all compete in the Race Walk. Nolte, the defending Indoor National Champion, is ranked ninth headed into the Championship. 

The Raven Women will compete in the 800m, the 4x800m Relay, the 10,000m, the 5,000 Race Walk, the 3,000 Steeplechase, Triple Jump, Javelin, Discus and Maria Connealy.

Cecilia Campos and Mary Lorang will compete in two events for the Ravens. Campos will run the 800m and is part of the 4x800m team of Anna Campbell, Michelle Zarybnicky, Annie Wilken and Siena Michael. Lorang will compete in the Javelin and Discus. Lorang is ranked first in the Javelin and second in the Discus headed into the Championships.

Maria Connealy will be competing in the Heptathlon, Madison Helton will be competing in the Triple Jump and Brigid Gormley will be competing in the Javelin. Catherine Aaron and Emilie Nelson will compete in the 10,000m, Leah Kuhn will compete in the Race Walk and Helen Ullrich will compete in the Steeple Chase. Kuhn is ranked sixth in the Race Walk.
