ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Benedictine Track & Field returned to action at the Red Raider Open hosted by Northwestern (Iowa) College.
The meet is the second-to-last regular season meet scheduled for both programs as they have one last week this coming weekend before turning their attention to the annual Heart Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Mount Mercy, on May 1-2 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Maria Connealy earned an event championship in the Heptathlon with 4,505 points to highlight the event for the Raven Women.
Madison Helton placed third in the high jump, while Brigid Gormley placed third in the javelin.
On the men's side, Joe Loughman won the javelin with a throw of 66.03 meters.
Christopher Coyne placed second in the pole vault, Xavier Luea placed fourth in the high jump while Brody Joachims placed fifth in the discus and hammer. Anthony Todd rounded out the Ravens top performers with a fifth place finish in the decathlon.
The Ravens will travel to Baldwin City on Saturday to take part in the annual ZK Invite hosted by Baker University.
