BALDWIN CITY – Benedictine Track & Field wrapped up the outdoor regular season on Saturday, competition in the annual ZK Invite hosted by Baker University.

A highlight of the meet for the Benedictine men was a clean sweep of the top eight finishes in the 5,000 meters. Brendon Alfonso won the race in a time of 15:34.77. He was followed in the top eight by John Joyce, Joseph Accurso, Nicholas Kling, Joseph Feldkamp, Dominic Buschelman, Micah Munoz and Daniel Crossett.

Joshua Melendez won the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:58.54. The Ravens also won the 4x100 meter relay with SeKorrey Thomas, Lance Norris, Titan Osburn and Bryce Austin teaming up to complete the relay in a time of 41.52 seconds. Joe Loughman won the javelin with a throw of 65.25 meters.

The highlight for the meet for the Raven Women was 6 individual event wins with one relay win.

Brynna Gormley won the 200 meters in a time of 24.36. Elizabeth Skendzel won the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:48.06. Catherine Aaron won the 3,000 meters in a time of 10:24.06. Jeanna Marie Lotz won the 5,000 meters in a time of 19:15.65. Madison Helton was the triple jump with a distance of 11.42 meters while Mary Lorang won the javelin with a throw of 43.64 meters – hitting the A standard for the meet to move to No. 7 in the NAIA on the qualifier list for NAIA Outdoor Nationals.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Maria Connealy, Brynna Gormley, Adelyn Bauer and Antonia Smith won the event in a time of 48:92.

The Ravens turn their attention to the Heart Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 1-2 hosted by Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
