Quartet headlines results from NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A quartet of Ravens from Benedictine Track & Field earned All-American results, competing at the annual NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships that wrapped up on Friday.

Joe Loughman, Leah Kuhn, Mary Lorang and Cecilia Campos headlined the results for Benedictine, as they earned All-American status in their respective events.

Loughman won the javelin with a throw of 66.59 meters (218'5"). 

Kuhn finished fourth in the 5,000m Race Walk with a time of 27:25.01. Lorang took fourth in the discus with a throw of 46.73 meters (153'3"). Campos placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.21, setting a new season best for her outdoor season. 

In addition to the four All-Americans, the Ravens competed in the Heptathlon, the Women's 10,000 meters, the Men's 5,000m Race Walk, Women's Javelin, the Women's Triple Jump and the Women's 4x800m Relay.

Maria Connealy scored 4,316 points in the Heptathlon. Catherine Aaron and Emilie Nelson finished in 17th and 18th respectively in the 10,000m. Daniel Crossett placed 11th in the Men's 5,000m Race Walk setting a new personal best with a time of 23:43.02. Brigid Gormley and Lorang competed in the Javelin, Gormley placed 21st and Lorang placed 31st. Madison Helton placed 19th in the Triple jump. The Women's 4x800 team of Michele Zarybnicky, Campos, Annie Wlken and Campbell placed 14th with a time of 9:14.34.
