(1) Women's Lacrosse returns to third NAIA title game on Friday at 5 p.m.

Ravens take on SCAD-Savannah for seventh time; third time in NAIA Championship

DECATUR, Ala. – Friday's NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship Game will feature a rematch of the of the final National Invitational Championship Game in 2019 as the top-seeded Benedictine Women's Lacrosse team takes on No. 3-seeded SCAD-Savannah at 4 p.m. at the Jack Allen Sports Complex.

The Ravens advances to their second straight title game, and third overall, with a 16-9 win over Keiser (Fla.) on Friday while the Bees advanced so the title game with an upset over No. 2 seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) on Wednesday, 14-7.

Match-up History: Friday's meeting between Benedictine and SCAD marks the seventh time the two teams have met with the Bees holding a 4-2 series lead. The previous two meetings have both came in the NAIA tournament during the semifinals. They met last year where Benedictine earned a 25-11 win and before that in 2022 where Benedictine won 15-14. SCAD beat Benedictine 18-12 in 2019 in the NAIA National Invitational Championship Game.

About SCAD-Savannah: SCAD has three players with over 40 goals this season, led by Ellen Benintendi with 66 goals. McKinsey Brown has 47 and Karley Holland has 43. … Annise Berkeley leads the Bees with 37 assists while Brown is the only other player over 30, with 31. … Benintendi is the Bees primary draw specialist, recording 133 in 17 games. … Riley O'Keefe and Mollie Geiger anchor the Bees defense with 35 and 31 caused turnovers respectively. SCAD currently has 254 caused turnovers, and are ranked third in the NAIA. … The Bees have two goalies with over 400 minutes in goal, with the duo play in 14 games. Chloe Zundel has an 8.16 goals-against average with 53 saves in just over 507 minutes in goal, while Lorna Fowles has a 6.49 GAA with 45 saves in just over 407 minutes in goal.

About Benedictine: Lorelei Siegel enters the Championship with 90 goals and needs 2 goals to take over sole possession of second-place on the Ravens single-season goals scored list. Kaylen Moore scored 91 goals last season while Chanterra Allen scored 91 in 2024 and are currently tied for second on the list. … Kaylen Moore leads the NAIA in draw controls this season with 141 through 18 games. For her career, she now has 637 career draw controls. With the elimination of Cumberlands on Wednesday, Moore will finish her career as the NAIA's all-time leader in draw controls. She entered the tournament with one more draw control than Cumberland's Emma Rittman, who held the record headed into this season. … Moore enters play with 35 caused turnovers this season, and needs 9 to tie her record for single-season caused turnovers at 46. … Molly Owen has played 897:25 minutes in goal this season over 18 games. She set the single-season record for goalie minutes last season at 938:32 and will have the opportunity to break that on Friday.
