KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Top-ranked Benedictine Women's Lacrosse heard their names officially announced as the No. 1 seed in the 6th annual NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship on Monday afternoon during the official NAIA Women's Lacrosse Selection Show.

The No. 1 Ravens will begin their title defense on Monday, May 11, in Decatur, Ala., at the Jack Allen Sports Complex at 10 a.m. 

Benedictine (16-0) earned the No. 1 seed in the Championship after clinch an automatic berth on Saturday with a 20-4 win over (RV) Missouri Baptist University in the Heart Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. The Ravens will take on No. 8 seed Lawrence Tech (Mich.), who earned an at-large berth out of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The No. 10 ranked Blue Devils finished the season at 11-6. They last played Marian (Ind.), who also earned a berth into the Championship, in the WHAC Championship game, falling 11-7.

Benedictine and Lawrence Tech have played each other four times since 2019 – with three of those coming during the National Championship. The Ravens beat the Blue Devils to win the 2022 NAIA National Championship in Southfield, Mich., and the two team also met in the 2024 National Championship Quarterfinals where Lawrence Tech won 16-11.

The remaining tournament field is No. 2 seed Cumblerlands (Ky.), No. 3 SCAD-Savannah and No. 4 Keiser (Fla.). The remaining three seeds are No. 5 Reinhardt (Ga.), No. 6 Marian, and No. 7 Ave Maria (Fla.).

Benedictine and Lawrence Tech are two of the teams in the field to blame a Red Banner with Reinhardt and Keiser also claiming a National Championship.

The Championship continues on Wednesday, May 13, with the semifinals at 4 and 7 p.m., then on Friday, May 15, the National 

Championship Game at 5 p.m.
