Biography

2023-2024: She was named to the 2024 Women's Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete team. Played in 7 games.

2022-2023: Played in 21 games, averaging 11.9 minutes per game. Averaged 2.3 ppg and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Before Benedictine: Will be coming to Benedictine College from Blair High School in Blair, Neb.  She is a 5'8" combo guard who has started every game of her four-year career at Blair High School and helped to lead her 2021-22 team to the most wins in school history (18) and the first trip to the state tournament since 1998.  Makayla averaged 11.3 pts, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals her senior year and was named Honorable Mention Class B All-State for the fourth consecutive year.  She also holds her school's record for most 3-pointers in a season (47 her senior year) and most 3-pointers in a career with 126.  Makayla is an exceptional athlete and was named the 2022 Blair High School Female Athlete of the Year, as she is also a standout on the high school track team qualifying for State the past three seasons and owns a state title in 2021, along with her teammates, in the 4x800 relay.  Makayla also excels in the classroom and has earned Academic All-State honors each season.
