Benedictine College Athletic Director Charlie Gartenmayer has announced that Laughlin Track will see a full renovation beginning in May 2025.

"Our track and cross country programs continue to be one of the top programs in the Heart of America Athletic Conference," Gartenmayer said. "We are excited to provide our track and cross country student-athletes with a new surface to train on and potentially complete here on campus."

During the 2023-24 academic year, Benedictine won both the Men's and Women's Heart Cross Country Championships and the Men's and Women's Indoor Track Heart Championships. The Raven Women narrowly missed out on the Heart Outdoor Championships finishing in second place while the Raven Men finished third on the Heart Outdoor Championships.

"My staff and I are very excited about the resurfacing of the track," said Benedictine Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jacob Connealy. "It will greatly benefit our current athletes and help us to continue to grow the program with new recruits."

The renovations to the track surface are the latest facility upgrades announced by the Raven Athletic Department. Earlier this month, the department announced the addition of an indoor facility to the Asher Sports Complex while earlier this fall, the Gartenmayer Family Videoboard was added to Larry Wilcox Stadium.
