KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The field has been announced the 61st annual NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships and the 46th annual NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
This year's event returns to the Alachua Country Sports & Event Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla, and will take place from March 5-7. Benedictine has qualified a total of 16 athletes for this year's National Championships with 14 Raven Women and 4 Raven Men headed down to Florida to represent Benedictine.
The Raven Women will compete in four individual events and two relays while the Raven Men will all compete in one individual event.
Cecilia Campos qualified in the 800 meter, Maria Connealy and Madison Helton qualified in the triple jump and Leah Kuhn qualified in the 3,000 meter race walk. The Raven Women will also be competing in the 4x800 relay and Distance Medley Relay. Members of the 4x800 making the trip are Annie Wilken, Siena Michael, Helen Ullrich, Emilie Nelson, Catherine Aaron, Campos, Anna Campbell and Betsy Skendzel. Members of the Medley are Campos, Brynna Gormley, Campbell, Skendzel, Aaron, Nelson, Ullirch and Wilken.
For the Raven Men, all four qualifiers will compete in the 3,000 meter race walk. They are Sam Bartoszek, Daniel Crossett, Micah Munoz and Owen Nolte.
Of the group heading down to Nationals, six of the Raven Women qualified last year with Kuhn a returning All-American in her event.
Of the group heading down for the Raven Men, two are return qualifiers with Nolte the reigning NAIA Indoor National Champion in the event.
