Benedictine College wrestling head coach Greg Barner has announced the addition of Mason Kump to his coaching staff for the upcoming season.
"We're excited to have Mason join our Family," Coach Barner said. "He's a blue-collar guy, that's extremely hungry and humble. He will be a huge support to our mission and vision of growing and developing strong men."
Coach Kump comes to Benedictine after completing his undergraduate degree from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., where he was a member of the Crusaders wrestling team.
"I first want to say thank you to Charles Gartenmayer and Greg Barner for this great opportunity," Kump said. "I am extremely excited to begin my coaching career here at Benedictine College. I hope to bring some youthful spunk and energy to the coaching staff, and look forward to building well-rounded men."
Kump was named a 2025 NWCA Scholar All-American last year at Belmont Abbey and is a two-time NWCA All-America selection for the Crusaders.Â
Before wrestling at Belmont Abbey, Coach Kump began his collegiate wrestling career at Southeastern University, a fellow NAIA program.
Coach Kump earned a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice/Motorsports Management from Belmont Abbey while minoring in Digital Sports Media.
