KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference released the list of 2024-25 Heart Scholar-Athletes on Monday afternoon, and Benedictine College Athletics placed 91 student-athletes on the list of 1,126 honorees from the conference's full and associate membership.
"We are always excited to see our student-athletes recognized for the hard work and dedication to their academics," said Benedictine Athletic Director Charlie Gartenmayer. "It is important to everyone on our staff to make sure that our student-athletes are getting the most out of their time at Benedictine. While the successes they have with their teams will be memorable, their dedication in the classroom is what will set them up to be successful far beyond their time on campus."
The 91 student-athletes to be honored as Heart Scholar Athletes is up from 78 for the 2023-24 academic year. To qualify for Heart Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes must earn a 3.4 or higher GPA (on a 4.0 scale), accumulate a minimum of 60 credit hours, complete at least 5 semesters, and attend the nominating institution for at least two semesters before being nominated. They also have to have participated in a varsity competition for the sport they are being nominated for. Graduate Students are eligible for honors.
