KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The first edition of the NAIA National Selection Committee (NSC) Top 25 Women's Volleyball Poll was released on Wednesday and Benedictine Volleyball has earned a spot in the poll.

Out to an 18-2 start to the season, the Ravens and head coach Victoria Hurtt earned a No. 25-ranking in the first NCS Top 25.

The NSC Top 25 replaces the NAIA Coaches' Poll for the remainder of the season. Members of NSC each completed an individual ballot based on data such as ranking percentage index (RPI), area rating committee standings (ARC), overall record, strength of schedule (SOS), and conference record. The same data being used come November when the selection committee is determining at-large teams and seeding the national championship field.

Benedictine is No. 22 the RPI Rankings and is ninth in the Midwest ARC Standings. The Midwest ARC consists of four conferences – AMC, GPAC, Heart, and KCAC. Three of the top 10 in the ARC are from the Heart with the other 7 out of the GPAC.

Joining the Ravens in this week's NSC Top 25 is Missouri Baptist at No. 9. Eastern Oregon is No. 1, followed by Northwestern (Iowa) at No. 2, Concordia (Neb.) at No. 3, Morningside (Iowa) at No. 4 and Corban (Ore.) at No. 5. Northwestern, Concorida and Morningside are all out of the GPAC and ahead of the Ravens in the Midwest ARC. Missouri Baptist is at No. 3 in the Midwest ARC.

A note from the NAIA regarding the NSC polls: A team's ranking in the NAIA NSC Poll does not guarantee a corresponding seed in the national championship.

Benedictine hosts a pair of Heart matches on Friday and Saturday. They take on Grand View University at 7 p.m. on Friday before hosting William Penn University at 1 p.m. Saturday.
