OVERLAND PARK – Benedictine Softball finished off its first weekend of Heart play on Saturday at 3-1, sweeping Missouri Valley on Friday before splitting with (8) Central Methodist on Saturday.

For her efforts, Bailey Selvage became the second Raven to earn weekly honors from the Heart as she earned the Heart Softball Pitcher of the Week, presented by Musco Lighting.

Selvage threw an 8-inning complete game against No. 8 Central Methodist to earn the 2-1 win on Saturday. She allowed just two earned runs over 13.1 innings pitched over the weekend. She tallied 13 strikeouts with eight against Missouri Valley and five against Central Methodist.

On the season, Selvage currently has a 1.12 ERA over 14 appearances and 69 innings pitches. She is 7-4 with 2 saves while throwing 8 complete games. She has 70 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .180 batting average at the plate. Selvage currently leads the Heart in ERA while ranking fourth in wins, second in strikeouts and she is tied for first in saves. 

Benedictine remains at home on Saturday, hosting a 1 p.m. Heart doubleheader with Culver-Stockton College before hitting the road on Sunday for their first road Heart doubleheader at Graceland.
