Softball earns No. 4 seed in Williamsburg (Ky.) Opening Round Bracket

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Benedictine Softball heard its named called on Wednesday afternoon as they joined the field of 48 teams to qualify for the 45th annual NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round.

The Ravens earned an at-large bid and will be returning to Williamsburg, Ky., to play for a chance at make the trip to Columbus, Ga., and the NAIA Softball World Series on May 21-27.

Benedictine earned the No. 4 seed in the Williamsburg Bracket and will take on the No. 5 seed Oakland City (Ind.) on May 11 at 12 p.m. in Game 1 of the bracket. Oakland City earned its bid into the Opening Round as the regular season champion of the River States Conference. 

Joining Benedictine and Oakland City in the Williamsburg Bracket are No. 1 seed Keiser (Fla.), No. 2 Saint Xavier (Ill.) and No. 3 Cumberlands.

Keiser earned its bid by winning the The Sun Conference tournament, Saint Xavier won the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament while Cumberlands earned an at-large host berth.
