OVERLAND PARK – The field is set for the 2026 Heart of America Athletic Conference Softball Tournament as the regular season concluded on Saturday.
Benedictine Softball has earned the No. 4 seed in the tournament after posting a Heart record of 19-9. The Ravens return to Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on April 30 as the Championship Tournaments gets underway with a five-game opening day.
The Ravens will take on No. 5 seed William Penn University at 9:30 a.m. to open up the Championship Tournament. William Penn posted an 18-10 Heart record this season to earn their seeding. Benedictine hosted William Penn for their regular-season doubleheader with the teams splitting those two games. William Penn earned a 2-1 win before Benedictine earned an 11-3 win to earn the split.
The winners of the match up will take on the winner of the No. 1 Missouri Baptist University vs. No. 8 Baker University pairing in the Winner's Bracket Semifinals on May 1 at 12 p.m. The losers of the first two Quarterfinal games, turn around at play the final game of day on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. with the loser of that game eliminated from the Championship Tournament.
This year's tournament field is No. 1 MBU, No. 2 Central Methodist University, No. 3 Grand View University, No. 4 Benedictine, No. 5 William Penn, No. 6 William Woods University, No. 7 Mount Mercy University and No. 8 Baker.
The Heart Office has announced a championship page will be posted at heartofamericaconference.com prior to the start of the championship, but as of this post, the website was experiencing technical issues and it is not known of that link is live yet.
