KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coming off a week were they posted a scoreless draw with one NAIA ranked opponent and knocked off a second, Benedictine Men's Soccer has moved into the receiving votes category in the first NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll of the regular season.
The Ravens earned a 0-0 tie with then No. 17 Mid-America Christian University on Wednesday and followed that up with a 1-0 win over then-No. 25 Williams Baptist. The Ravens earned 3 points and are among the group listed in the receiving votes category for the first time since the final poll of the regular season last year. The Ravens climbed as high as No. 19 in the Sept. 25 poll last season.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference continues to be well represented in the Top 25, led by No. 3 MNU. William Penn is next at No. 5, followed by Baker at No. 13 and Missouri Valley at No. 14. Clarke rounds out the NAIA ranked Heart programs at No. 20. William Woods and Grand View joined Benedictine in the receiving votes category with WWU earning 22 points and Grand View earning 2.
MACU dropped two spots to No. 19 in this week's poll, while Williams Baptist dropped out of the rankings and is listed in the RV category with 12 points.
Benedictine returns to action tonight at 7:30 p.m. hosting Concordia (Neb.) on Legacy Field.
